Workshops

Here is a list of suggested workshops that are one day workshops.  Any quilt you see in the online store can be a workshop including the quilts from the book "Team Spirit" which are shown under the Gallery images.  "Halftime Event" is from the book and "Face Off" and "Fright Night" are independent patterns.  The choice is yours, these suggested patterns have had positive results from the quilters that participated in the classes. Please check out contracts here for workshops and here for trunkshows.

  • This quilt has the focus fabric as the background with the contrasting yet coordinating fabrics making this a stunning quilt!
  • Bonus pattern included: with the leftover Half Square Triangles the quilter can make a tote to store their cutting mats.
  • Will show directional HST with different methods for making HST.

Fabric:

  • 2 1/2 yd. of dark fabric for the diagonal stripes
  • 2 1/2 yd. of white fabric for the backgrounnd
  • 1/2 yd. coordinating medium tone on tone fabric A for the horizontal strips.
  • 1/2 yd. coordinating light tone on tone fabric B for the horizontal strips
  • 1/2 yd. coordinating medium tone on tone fabric C for the vertical strips
  • 1/2 yd. coordinating light tone on tone fabric D for the vertical strips
  • 3/4yd for borders

Fabric Suggestions:

  • For the white fabric I suggest using a theme print (focus fabric) with multiple colors to pull from for the other fabrics.
  • For the dark fabric I suggest a coordinating dark fabric to the theme print and use for the border as well, then you will need 3 1/4 yd.
  • For the horizontal strips select one color from the theme print and use the medium and light shades of that color, tone on tone, for your fabric choices
  • For the vertical strips, select a second color from the theme print and use the medium and light shades of that color, tone on tone, for your fabric choices.

Optional Specialty Tools:

  • The Angler 2 for sewing on the diagonal without drawing lines
  • June Tailor's Shape Cut or Quarter Cut for cutting strips quickly and accurately
